If you’re like a lot of people, you have things that you want to happen in your life. Maybe you want to graduate from college, get married, have children, advance in your career, buy a house, become an entrepreneur, travel the world. You get where I’m going with this. 🙂 But life happens, as it does to all of us. And you experience delays. The money isn’t there for you to go to college. The man or woman of your dreams is in the wind and you’re advancing in age and still not married. The clock is ticking and still no baby. You’ve been at the same job, in the same position for years, watching others be promoted while nothing is happening for you. You’d love to buy a house, but you can’t afford to, so you sign a lease. Again. You have a million and one ideas to become your own boss, but you lack the knowledge and resources to turn your ideas into a reality. Your life situations are preventing you from traveling the way you want. When you look at the clock, you feel you’re behind where you should be. And you become discouraged. Can you relate?
Well, I was talking to a very good friend and she said that God told her to take her eyes off the clock and the calendar. And boy, oh boy, did that resonate with me! Just as it did with her. I wrote it down and keep it on my office computer. If you can grab hold of the meaning in that simple little phrase, you will mentally free yourself. I promise! And here’s why…
It may be true that things aren’t happening on the schedule you feel they should. BUT, if you are in God’s will, then you are exactly where you are supposed to be. So take your eyes off the date you see on the calendar and the time you see on the clock. Remember that His Word says…
- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
- Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 NIV)
- For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus (born anew) that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us, taking paths which He prepared ahead of time, that we should walk in them (living the good life that He prearranged and made ready for us to live.) (Ephesians 2:10 AMP)
Ask Him if, in your desire to make things happen on your timeline, have you gotten off your path? He’ll tell you. If you have, repent and let Him guide you back on it. Maybe you can’t handle the things you’re desiring at the moment. Submit yourself to His perfect timeline. ONE touch from God can accelerate you 50 years! So it doesn’t matter if you’re getting a late start (in your eyes) because in His eyes, you’re right on time. And perfectly positioned for Him to release His blessings on you. And when what I’m saying resonates in your spirit, you will experience the freedom that I’m speaking about in your life. It’s not about YOUR timeline. It’s about HIS timeline for you! 🙂 So take your eyes off the clock and calendar and put them where they belong… On God! 🙂
Be Blessed and Have a Fantastic Day!
