Throw Off Your Identity…and Be Healed

IMG_2353

I spend a lot of time studying healing these days. It’s something that weighs heavily on my heart. I look around me and see so many people suffering. Diabetes. High Cholesterol. High Blood Pressure. Vitamin Deficiencies. Wounded Marriages. Sexual Diseases. Back Pain. Stomach Pain. And the list goes on….. And it’s heart wrenching.

Many of the people living with one or more situations are believers. They’ve read that God heals the sick. Shoot, Jesus raised the dead! So it’s not that they don’t believe that God can, but usually they question whether God WILL. Will God do it for them?

Here’s what I’ve discovered.  There is a difference between what I term “head faith” and “heart faith” Head faith is when you read what you’re believing for in the Word and you know it’s possible. Heart faith, is when you believe without a doubt, and you know, that you know, that you know, that what you are believing for is happening. Even if you do not see it. For example, the Word of God tells us that by Jesus’ stripes we are healed. We read it. We believe that God’s word is true. And, so, in our heads we have the faith to believe that. But when we have a situation, if our belief has not been rooted in our hearts, we will find that we may think God won’t do it for us.

The only way, to make sure that this is not your situation, is to stay in the word of God until you know without a doubt that what you’ve read applies to you as well as everyone else who reads it. And you have to know that in spite of what you may be feeling. You have to know that your marriage is healed in spite of how ridiculous your spouse maybe acting. You have to know that you can be cured from diabetes, even if the medical professionals say it’s impossible. You have to know that you don’t have to accept a sexually transmitted disease, just because you slept around and the doctors say you’ll have it for life. You have to know that you don’t have to suffer from baldness because it’s in your genes.

I encourage you to read the story of Bartimaeus. You find him in the Gospels, Matthew 20-29-34, Luke 18:35-43; and Mark 10:46-52

46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; He calleth thee.

50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

There’s a lot here! Bartimaeus was blind, but his ears still worked! And when he heard that Jesus was there, he started crying out to Him. He referenced Jesus as the Son of David. He knew that Jesus was the Messiah. Which means he knew Jesus was the answer to his need.

The crowd told him to be quiet. The same way people may tell you to be quiet. “Girl, hush, that’s just old age.” “Pssh, everyone loses their site as they get old.” “Why are you stayin’ with that man? After how he treated you? I’d be out.” “Diabetes runs in our family. Everybody will get it.” “Sorry you have herpes. That’s what you get for sleeping around.” Ever have that kind of noise playing in your background? Take a page out of Bartimaeus’ book. When the crowd told him to be hold his peace, the Word of God says he cried out even louder! He asked for mercy.

And his call to Jesus, stopped Jesus in His tracks (v.49) It says Jesus stood still. And He commanded that Bartimaeus be brought to Him. Which is so interesting, because it sounds like the same people who told him to be quiet, were now telling him to be comforted and go to Jesus. Those who once weren’t on his side are now on his side. Hmmm…

Now, check this out. Before Bartimaeus walks to Jesus, He does something HUGE. He cast away his garment. In those days, people were defined by their garments. It was part of their identity. His garment identified him as a blind beggar. Notice that he threw away the identity he no longer wanted BEFORE he went to Jesus. He knew beyond any doubt, that he was in the midst of the Healer. And he had the faith to believe that he was healed.

Jesus asked him what he wanted and he asked for his eyesight. And Jesus told him that because of his faith, he was now whole. And immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus.

This is how we should be. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1). Check out my blog post on Now Faith Is…  Bartimaeus is an example to us. We need to believe with unshakable faith, that the thing we cannot see, is the exact thing we can have. (As long as what we’re asking for is in God’s Will. And when we spend time in His Word, we learn His Will.)

Manifestation: Waiting or Enjoying?

British Columbia

For years, I’ve been aware of the power of words and I’m very cognizant of the words I speak. For example, when it comes to healing. I do my best to only speak what I desire, and not what I feel. I’ll be honest and say that I sometimes fail in this area. Which is why staying in the Word is so important. I’ve recently had my fair share of doctor’s visits and I’ll share what I discovered about me. Maybe you can relate to some part of my experience. The things the doctor said that I felt I could handle, like taking an iron supplement daily, I accepted without question. I didn’t ask God to regulate my blood so the iron pills weren’t necessary. BUT, when a scan showed something with my heart… well, now that was something I wanted to talk to God about. (Cry to God was more like it.) But in the midst of what I was going through, I always remembered to be mindful of my words.

This brings me to the point of this blog. I was mindful of my words, but I didn’t know what to say. How do you explain what’s going on with you in the natural to a loved one who’s concerned about you? Or to a doctor who needs to know your history? How do you bring them up to speed without speaking life into the very thing you don’t want to acknowledge? My way of speaking was to say, “I know God has healed me. And I’m waiting on the manifestation of that healing.” But that declaration felt “off”. If the Bible says I’m healed then what am I waiting on? I still experienced symptoms and I wasn’t denying what I saw or heard or felt. What I was denying was it’s right over me. There is no sickness or disease or illness, that is more powerful than my God.

Recently, I was listening to a sermon and the minister gave me my answer. He said it always bothered him when people said they were waiting on the manifestation of (fill in the blank). Because to him, it sounded like people were really hoping that God was going to do what they believed God was going to do, but there was a smidgen of doubt. He said he would much rather hear them say a word other than waiting. This really resonated within me and I talked to God about it, and the word that came to me was “enjoying”. Instead of saying I was waiting on the manifestation of healing, I began to say I am enjoying the manifestation of healing. This may seem like a small thing. But when you think about it, it makes a lot of sense.

If you are waiting on manifestation then you are saying that you believe this is something that will happen later on. That currently you are not experiencing manifestation. However, when you say that you are enjoying manifestation, what you are really saying is that you are enjoying manifestation in that moment. So, even if you cannot see what you are believing is manifesting, you are still believing that it is happening rather than believing that it will one day happen.

I encourage you to really think about this. Think about the promises that God gives us in His Word.

Be Blessed and Have a Fantastic Day!

Take Time For God… You’re Too Busy Not To

posted in: Inspiration | 2

two cups of hot tea

Many of us are busy.  I mean very busy!  Our day starts before the sun wakes up and ends long after its gone to bed. We go to sleep with our life situations on our minds and wake up still thinking about them.

But what if when you woke up tomorrow and went into your kitchen to make your first cup of coffee/tea, you saw Jesus was sitting at your kitchen table?  Would you tell Him, “Sorry Lord, I don’t have time to talk right now, gotta get ready for work.”  Or would you stop everything and spend time with Him?  For those of us who believe in Jesus, I believe you’d pause what you’re doing.  You would not let that moment of spending time with Him pass you by.  You would shift everything you had going on that day because you’d be so honored that He stopped by your house just to spend time with you.  And what if He said He’d be back tomorrow, if you wanted Him to. Would you say, “Sorry Lord, today was good enough, but I’m super busy tomorrow.”  Or would you adjust your tomorrow so you could spend time with Him?  Again, I know you’d rearrange your schedule or wake up a little earlier.  And you’d do it because the time spent in His Presence is invaluable.  You know this to be true because you’ve felt it before. Maybe during a spirit-filled moment in church or a personal praise session in your car.  You know how it feels to be covered in His anointing.

And He’s telling you that you can live in that place. Just because you can’t see Him with your natural eyes doesn’t mean He’s not sitting at your kitchen table when you wake up and fix that cup of coffee.  He’s there.  And He’s waiting for you to realize that you have too much going on in your life to not make Him a priority. He’s watching you focus on the wrong things and shaking His head, waiting for you to just ask Him what to do. Because He’d tell you. He’s got great life-changing ideas in store for you, and you’re missing them because you haven’t slowed down enough to talk to Him and ask Him what you should be doing.  You’re spending time in a dead-end relationship because you won’t ask Him if he/she is “the one”.  There is an awesome book by Gloria Copeland called “To Know Him: Beyond Religion Waits a Relationship That Will Change Your Life”.  In it she says, “God is the only One who has all the answers. He knows where you need to go in life and how to get you there.  He has a solution for every problem.  He has the master plan for your life!”

So draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you…” (James 4:8a KJV)  Establish within yourself that God cannot lie.  If He tells you He’ll be there when you knock, then He’ll be there when you knock.  You won’t get voicemail when you call because He’ll answer you.  His Word will never return to Him empty but will accomplish what He pleases and prosper where He sent it.

So take time for God…you’re too busy not to

Be Blessed and Enjoy Your Day!  🙂

Obeying God Isn’t Boring… Look At Jesus… He Had Swag

posted in: Inspiration | 2

Miami scene

Look at our example in Jesus.  He was the most obedient man in history and He had a very exciting life!  Jesus was gangsta.  He cast out demons.  He touched people and they were healed.  He fed crowds.  He flipped tables.  He walked on water.  He had a crew.  He was the originator of swag.

We know God loves the “If you..then I..” promises. There is a beautiful passage of Scripture that tells us what’s in store for us if we are obedient.  John 14:12-15 (KJV)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.  If ye love me, keep my commandments.

The most important verse in that Scripture is “If ye love me, keep my commandments”.  If we want to be able to do great works and be able to ask God for anything in the name of Jesus and see it be done, then we must keep His commandments.  If we want to have a swag-a-licious life like Jesus, then we must keep God’s commands.  It’s that simple.

Throughout my blogs, you’ll see me continue to reference this truth:  Establish Within Yourself That God Cannot Lie.  And I do this because it’s the foundation upon which we stand to walk in victory in this Christian life.  If God cannot lie, then we can believe Him when He says, “the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do Why?that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”  Here comes a promise. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”  How do we show God that we love Him? If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

To get to the place where we are able to believe and internalize every part of this Living Word, we must abide in God.  We have to make Him our home.  When we abide, then we obey.  When we obey, then we receive.  We cannot let the enemy talk us out of what God says is available to us.

Establish within yourself that God cannot lie.  Your life will be far from boring and you can have the swag of Jesus!

Have a Blessed & Fantastic Day! 🙂

Good Lawd, They Fired Me!… Thank YOU!!

Have you ever been fired, laid off, terminated, let go, downsized, right sized?  Pick a term.  It all means that same thing and places us in the same place.  Without a paycheck and in the unemployment line. There may be some of us out there who can see the blessing immediately and never look back.  But for a lot of us, you’ll go through what I went through.  I remember the day so well.  It was November 5, 2012.  And I was blindsided. But was I really?  Any of us who have at least a remote connection with God can sense when something isn’t right and we can feel that a change is a comin’  LOL!

I had 3 significant lay off notices.  One from the Father, one from the Son, and one from the Holy Spirit 🙂 .

The first was when a colleague told me that if something happened that it wasn’t me. They were just going to go in a different direction.

The second notice was a month or so later when I visited my bestie in Italy.  As we drove along the countryside, I felt a lightheartedness that I hadn’t felt in a very long time.  I remember God placing me in a deep sleep for about 13 hours and I believe He was rewiring me.  I could feel her standing over me and shaking me (probably trying to see if I was still alive), but I was out cold.  When I finally awoke, God told me to stay in Philippians Chapter 4 until He released me.  And I read it almost daily for close to 2 months.   During that time, I wrote in my journal that they didn’t have the power to remove me and that I was never going to leave on my own.  I was very attached to my “golden handcuffs” and I was never going to give them up willingly.  So I told God that if He wanted me to go in a different direction, He was going to have to push me.

My third notice came on November 4, 2012, when I was talking to my mother and asking her about her dreams and she asked me about mine.  I thought about it and realized I’d been so busy living, that I’d forgotten how to dream.

Well, November 5th came, and I got my opportunity to pursue my dreams.  I’m sure the company notice went something like this, “Monica has left the company to pursue other opportunities.”   That is corporate code for “She got fired, y’all.”  LOL

But thank God for November 5th because I really was released by HIM, not THEM, to pursue my dreams.  Although, I’ll be honest, in the immediate days that followed, I didn’t have the outer appearance of a blessed woman.  My eyes stayed red and puffy. My nose continually dripped.  My head pounded incessantly.  I was best friends with Frito Lay.  I had forgotten the purpose of a comb and brush.  And water was not my friend (if you get my meaning). I was in great pain emotionally, and that pain was evident physically.

I talked to my bestie while she was still in Italy and she said since I like to journal, I should journal my journey of life after Corporate and how I was going to get back on my feet.   So I did.  And God had me turn that journal into an inspirational book, Today Is Your Last Day…Say Wha?! (The First 24 Months After Your Lose Your Job).

Today, here’s what I know to be true:

  • Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, He will send you lay off notices before the big day arrives. 🙂
  • The process of change can hurt.  But you have to ride it out. You have to find the strength (and He gives you all the strength you need if you just ask for it) to push through.  Push through your fears, negative self talk, worries, anxieties, pride, embarrassment, anger, self doubt. Everything.  Immerse yourself in Him and He will sustain you while He’s rewiring you.
  • Your future direction may not always look like your past.  So be open. If you want to live a fulfilling life, you must be open to change.
  • It’s dangerous to remain complacent in your past blessings.  It can stagnate your future.  Sometimes our lives are actually pretty darn good.  No major issues anywhere. Bills are paid on time. Disposable resources exist.  Health is good.  Nothing about our lives makes us want to mop the floor with our bodies as we beg God to help us.  (Anybody done that before?)  The danger in that is we sometimes stop seeking Him as diligently as we should.  And the key to living the ultimate successful life is abiding in Him.  Continually seeking His will and wisdom for your life. What you have may be wonderful, but what He actually desires for you may actually be so much more!
  • If you submit yourself to God’s will for your life, you will be victorious.  You may not always look victorious, but you still are victorious.  Remember this.  HE loves you. He LOVES you.  He loves YOU.

God is our Source!  He picks and chooses the resources He provides at His will.  Not ours.  Knowing this, will help you see that it is completely within the realm of possibility for you to lose your current job (source) and say “Thank You, God!”   🙂

What God Wants For Us…

posted in: Inspiration | 8

Monica in Honduras

I have a new favorite scripture and I’m sharing it with you. I love it so much, that I’ve committed it to memory. It’s Ephesians 2:10.

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus (born anew) that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us, taking paths which He prepared ahead of time, that we should walk in them (living the good life that He prearranged and made ready for us to live.) (AMP)

This Scripture, especially in the Amplified version is so beautiful and powerful, I ask you to please read it again and this time, soak in the words. And when you read it, add “Selah”, which means to pause and calmly think of that.

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship). Selah

Think about something you’ve created. Whether it’s a poem you’ve written, a sweater you crocheted, the financial report that you finally finished after months of hard work and late nights. These are things where you feel a sense of pride in your accomplishment. And these are just things. The poem may remain in the notebook. The sweater may one day find itself at the bottom of the drawer. The data in your financial report may become obsolete and you’ll have to do it all over again next month. All these things are temporary.

Now think about this. We are God’s own handiwork. We are products of His workmanship. And He has a sense of pride and accomplishment when He looks at us (even though we are extremely flawed and disappoint Him often). He loves us. So much so that He continues with the verse and says:

Recreated in Christ Jesus (born anew). Selah

God knows that because we’re imperfect, it is impossible to be righteous in His sight. So He blessed us with a gift. Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, we are made righteous. God can enjoy His handiwork in us because of His Son.

That we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us. Selah

Before we were even born, God had a plan for us. Our birthdays just mark our time on earth. But God knew us before we were here, so really all of us are much older than we look. 🙂

God has good works planned for us. And we should be doing them. In the Bible, there are times when He says “shall” and those times give us assurance that if we believe, what He says “shall” occur, is 100% certain to occur.  Like when He says in Isaiah 55:11 “so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”.

But in this scripture, He says “that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us.” He has things for us to do. He obviously wants us to do them because He set it up ahead of time. But whether or not we do them, has a lot to do with us and how we walk out our lives.

Taking paths which He prepared ahead of time, that we should walk in them (living the good life that He prearranged and made ready for us to live.) Selah

He has prepared a way for us!! A way that’s right and righteous. A way of salvation. And salvation means: wholeness, deliverance, victory, prosperity, health, and welfare. He says we should walk in the paths that He’s set for us. He gives us free will to choose, so He’s not going to force us. But He tells us that if we walk in the paths that He set up for us, we will live the good life (and “good life” means something different for each of us). And He says He made the good life ready for us to live!

It’s like when you’re hosting a dinner party. You plan the meal, you make sure you have refreshments, you give thought to how the day is going to play out. And you’d be disappointed, if after all of your planning and running around, your guests were a no-show. That’s what this is like. God is waiting to greet you on the path that He took time to prepare and He’ll be disappointed if you’re a no-show. 🙂

Don’t let this go to waste. If you’re not living the good life, your best life, then you are living beneath where God wants you. You’re living on a path that He didn’t set for you. Get off whatever path you’re on and ask Him how to get where you belong. He’ll show you.

Live so that you, Make Your Dreams Your Life!

Be Blessed and Have a Fantastic Day!

God’s Word Doesn’t Return To HIM Void…But It May Return To US Void

Monica Foster
Monica Foster

Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Are you familiar with that passage of Scripture? It’s one of my favorites! (And if you follow my blog you’ll know that I have a lot of favorite scriptures! LOL)  But the reason I love it, is because it’s a promise to us. God watches over His Word to perform it in our lives.

So why is it that there are times when we don’t see His Word come to pass?

Many of us will rationalize it and say, “Well, it must not be His will…” And there may be times when that is true. Like say, we put in an offer for a house that we wanted and we didn’t get it. Okay, maybe in this case it wasn’t His will.

But what about the promises God shares with us in His Word? How do we rationalize that away when we’re believing for something that doesn’t happen?  Like healing. There are several scriptures that talk about healing. How Jesus died for our healing. And yet, when we don’t experience that healing we say it wasn’t His will.

But wouldn’t that make God a liar? And God says in Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent: Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

So, why is it that if we’re believing for healing, or any other promise, and don’t receive it that we say it wasn’t God’s Will?

The problem is we don’t believe God’s Word as much as He does. 🙂

When we establish within ourselves that God cannot lie and take Him at His Word, then I believe we’ll see the prosperity of His Word in our lives. And His Word won’t return to Him or us void.

Just think about it. 🙂

What “I AM’s” Are Coming Out Of Your Mouth?

Blah blah blah

Joel Osteen has a book, “The Power Of I Am” and it’s a great reminder that we should pay attention to what we call ourselves. Because whatever follows our “I Am” will follow us. It’ll come looking for us.

All of us talk to ourselves. All of us. And that doesn’t make us crazy! LOL. It makes us normal. And when we do, what do we say?

“I am broke.” or “I am prosperous.”

“I am sick.” or “I am healthy.”

“I am unattractive.” or “I am beautiful.”

“I am not strong enough to…” or “I am strong and will…”

“I am unlucky” or “I am blessed beyond measure.”

Think about how powerful words are! God created the universe with words. Proverbs 18:21 says,Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

We get to choose the words we say about ourselves. We have the ability and the right to say:

I am amazing.

I am healthy.

I am courageous.

I am wealthy.

I am prosperous.

I am victorious.

I am wonderful.

I am brilliant.

I am creative.

I am righteous.

I am joyful.

I am happy.

I am a magnet for success.

I am kind.

I am blessed.

I am saved.

I am awesome.

I am a Child Of The Most High God!

Now, would I walk up to someone and introduce myself by saying, “Hello, my name Monica and I am awesome.” Of course not! Because I am also humble. But I am certainly thinking it. 🙂 Because I am God’s child and He made me in His image. And He’s awesome! He’s wonderful, blessed, prosperous, healthy, overflowing with abundance. You get my point. And He’s no respecter of people.

So, just as amazing as I am, so are you! You are amazing with the gifts and talents and life that He’s bestowed upon you! Know this! Believe this! And walk in it!

God Provided The Supply… Before You Had The Demand

Monica Foster

Have you ever found yourself talking to God about your problems? As if he doesn’t already know what’s going on. Duh! LOL!!  I’ve really been on this point in my quiet time lately and as I was watching a sermon, the pastor said that God has provided the supply before we had the demand. And that thought stopped me in my tracks. Because it’s true. There is absolutely nothing that you or I will ever experience that’s new to God. And God has given us everything we will ever need. Our job is to take hold of it.

Let’s use healing as an example. Say, we have a migraine. If God said that by the stripes of Jesus we were healed, then we don’t have to live with that migraine. We don’t have to wait for Jesus to get back up on the cross and die again. That would be absurd. He already did it. He was the supply before we had the demand.

So, how do we access this healing? I’m glad you asked. We do what He told us to do. That migraine is our mountain in this particular moment. And what did The Word tell us to do with a mountain? He said speak to it.

“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.24“Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.” Mark 11:23-24

He didn’t say for us to talk to Him about it. He said speak directly to our mountain. And believe what we say. He’s given us the authority.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. 13“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.…” John 14:12-13

This concept is so simple that we tend to complicate it. Because common sense says that it shouldn’t be this easy to be healed. And there are many who will have trouble receiving what I’m saying. But pray about it. Ask God if what I’m sharing lines up with His Word. If you choose not to believe it, then you will not experience what I’m saying. And yes, there are things that we can do that will short circuit our healing. But it’s not because God didn’t make the supply available.

As I was studying this lesson, I had a headache, and in that moment, I was unable to speak to it with any power. I didn’t believe it would work. So I took two aspirin. And I kept studying and went to bed. The next morning, I woke up with a pain in my neck and decided to exercise the authority I was given and believe that I could cast out my pain. So I laid my hands on my neck and spoke to the pain. I commanded it to leave my body and thanked God for the authority I’d been given to be able to do this. Then I twisted my neck from side to side and the pain was gone. Seriously. I praised God. Later that evening it came back. So I did it again. And the pain left.

If this is new for you, start small. Build your faith and your confidence in God’s Word. If you don’t believe it, it won’t happen. But if you do believe it… you’ll find a whole new world of authority in the Name of Jesus opening up to you!   It’s awesome!

Establish Within Yourself… That God Cannot Lie

Water Scene

Recently I was watching a Jesse Duplantis tape and heard something that changed my life.  I used to think that Jesse Duplantis was just a funny preacher that was all about money.  But lately, I’ve been watching his messages and what I’m learning couldn’t be further from the truth.  He’s really a faith teacher and the “things” he speaks of are simply a by-product of his faith.

In one of his sermons, he said “establish within yourself that God cannot lie”.  As a Christian, I’ve heard “God is not a man that He should lie.”  I’ve heard that all of my life and I’ve believed it.  But for some reason, when I heard it the way Jesse put it, it resonated with me in a way that it never has before.

Establish within myself that God cannot lie.  To go deeper with that thought, I read the definition of “establish”.

1. To gain full recognition or acceptance of

2. To show the existence or truth of, by evidence

Related Words – Attest, Authenticate, Bear Out, Support, Sustain, Uphold, Confirm, Corroborate, Justify, Verify, Identify, Confess, Testify, Certify, Witness

So if I’m establishing within myself that God cannot lie, then I could also say it this way:

Monica, gain full recognition and acceptance within yourself that God cannot lie.

Monica, show the existence,  by evidence, within yourself that God cannot lie.

Monica, attest, authenticate, bear out, support, sustain, uphold, confirm, corroborate, justify, verify, identify, confess, testify, certify, and witness within myself that God cannot lie.

The only way I can do this is to know God.  I have to know His character.  I have to know what He says.  I have to talk to Him.  I have to read His Word.  I have to remember all of the things in my life that have happened because He told me it would.  That’s how I know God.  And that’s how I establish within myself that God cannot lie.

How about you?  Have you established within yourself that God cannot lie?  I can promise you this.  The more you become rooted in that promise He’s given us, the better your life will be.  Do you have a need? Seek His Word about it.  Find out what He says.  Then establish within yourself that because He cannot lie, His Word will never return to Him void.  He will accomplish His purpose in your life.  Why? Because He cannot lie.

I’m not a preacher, evangelist, prophet, etc.  I’m just a woman who has a heart for God and desires to share what I learn in the hopes that it may benefit someone else.

Be blessed!
