Recently I was listening to a Pastor and he discussed a familiar scripture, “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Ps. 30:5b.
Whenever someone is going through a rough patch in life, a lot of times, people will quote this scripture. And it’s true. Your down times won’t last forever. You will have joy again.
But have you ever thought about this… when the clock strikes 12:01 a.m. and it is officially “morning”, does the sky look any different than it did at midnight? No. Is it still just as dark? Yes.
So what am I saying? I’m saying that sometimes your morning looks the same as your night. But the clock is still ticking and you are moving toward the daylight of your morning joy. Think about how gradually the sun comes up. It’s something we don’t really notice, and then it seems like “suddenly” the sun is shining. But it wasn’t suddenly at all. It was a slow, almost imperceptible process.
There are times when your joy will be instantaneous. But probably more often than not, you’ll be going through a situation and feel like your joy will never arrive. But God’s Word is true. When you’re having a challenging moment. Difficulty with your bills. Your kids are misbehaving. Your car needs repair. You just lost your job. Whatever your issue, seek God’s Word for your answer. And know that it’s after 12:01am. Your joy is in process. Hold on and you will see the sun shine again. Your bills will be paid. Your kids will straighten up. Your car will be fixed. Your joy will manifest. I know this to be true, because I’ve established within myself that God cannot lie. Speak your answer. Not your problem. Speak God’s Word. Not what you see.
Your joy started at 12:01a.m. 🙂
